Master FX arrived at the shoot for a new Chicago Sky hype video with a clear brief from the production team: create a low fog effect cascading down the stairs and hugging the front of the set without obscuring the shape of the scenic elements.

Setting up two Genesis low fog generators to run opposite of each other was the easiest part of the day. Running a system that requires no dry ice, water, or CO₂ meant more time for the creative work of customizing an effect that came in thick from out of frame, spread quickly, stayed low, and dissipated fast.
MULTIPLE FLUID COMPATIBILITY • DYNAMIC MULTI-MODE CONTROL
With full control over every parameter and multiple fluid options, Genesis excels at achieving the precise low fog effect a production calls for. Game-changing ease-of-use makes becoming a hang time hero with Genesis as simple as mastering a bit of low fog lingo and learning what to expect when you choose your liquid.

Fluid choices shape the density and hang time of the effect. Fog output and fan speed settings give control over fog volume and movement. The option to pair Genesis with either a Prodigy+ or Prodigy Pro fog generator allows for matching the system's coverage capabilities to the scale of a space.

Ground Clouds is formulated to produce a low-lying fog that spreads evenly and dissipates cleanly during its 25-30 second hang time.

The extremely dense Ground Clouds Platinum formula creates thick white plumes of fog with up to 45 seconds of hang time for more dramatic and longer-lasting effects.

LOW & SLOW mode generates slow-moving plumes of fog that glide across the ground.

In STRATOSPHERE mode, Genesis produces rolling clouds of thick fog that covers large stages within seconds.
MANUAL MODE: WHERE YOUR CREATIVITY TAKES CENTER STAGE

In MANUAL MODE, designers enjoy the freedom to shape a wide variety of effects with complete control over fog output and fan speed. When experimenting with different looks, expect to make adjustments as needed to adapt to a space's airflows and humidity levels. Keeping that in mind, here are a few suggested settings to get started:

• To achieve a thin layer of fog that drifts smoothly across the ground, start with fog output at 20% and fan speed at 10%

• For thick, slow-rolling clouds, start with fog output at 50% and fan at 10%

• For a fast-moving, high-intensity storm of low fog, start with the fog at 80% and set the fan at 100%

Whether live or on camera, the sky's the limit with a low fog solution that empowers users to adjust the density, height, and speed of an effect on the fly. Whether dialing in fog output and fan speed or choosing the best fluid for the job, there is no wrong way to land on the right play to achieve the desired effect.
