At Intuit Dome in Los Angeles, the arena’s massive Halo Board surrounds fans with motion, light, and larger-than-life visuals. To extend that experience beyond the screen, Master FX collaborated with Image Engineering to integrate 40 Atlas Advanced LED Fog Generators directly into the display.
Each Atlas is positioned within the Halo Board to direct its effect downward. As motion graphics ignite across the video wall, fog projects toward the crowd to add full-blown impact to player introductions and game tip-offs.
Delivering those moments required more than mounting fog generators inside a scoreboard. Master FX developed a complete system encompassing custom hardware, automated fluid delivery, remote monitoring, show control, and ongoing system oversight.

Building the Effect into the Architecture
Permanent effects installations present a different set of challenges than touring productions. In a temporary show environment, a fog generator can be positioned where a technician can easily refill or service it. Inside the Halo Board, access to the equipment is far more complicated and can require a 100-foot boom lift.
Master FX created custom mounting solutions to secure the Atlas units within the display, developing a purpose-built operating platform with multiple control hubs, in order to bring the individual components together in a system that operates as part of the arena’s infrastructure.

Supplying 40 Atlas Units from More Than 200 Feet Away
Because refilling each Atlas individually would be inefficient and impractical, Master FX engineered a fully automated remote fluid distribution network.
Multiple 55-gallon drums located more than 200 feet from the Halo Board serve as the system’s central fluid supply. Pumps and tubing move fog fluid from the drums to each Atlas automatically, keeping the machines supplied without requiring technicians to access the display for routine refills.
Facility crews can replenish the drums from the service area while the distribution system manages delivery to the individual units.

Intuit Dome Custom Distribution Network Interface
Custom Control and Real-Time Monitoring
A custom-built touchscreen interface gives operators a centralized view of the system. The platform displays live fluid levels and system alerts while managing the automated filling process for each Atlas.
Remote alarm notifications help crews respond to issues without first accessing the equipment. The system also collects data on machine run time and fluid consumption, allowing operators to review usage trends, forecast fluid needs, and identify units that may be operating inefficiently.
Multiple safety fail-safes add another layer of protection to an installation designed to perform reliably above a live audience.

Live Fluid Level Monitoring
Connecting Fog to the Show
The creative impact depends on more than output—it depends on timing.
The Atlas fixtures connect to the venue’s Art-Net network and are operated through an MA lighting console, allowing fog cues to align with the arena’s show programming. The automated fluid system operates through a separate control protocol while continuously supporting the generators behind the scenes.
This architecture allows fog to synchronize with the Halo Board’s motion graphics, interactive crowd lighting, in-seat lasers, game introductions, and live entertainment cues.

Post Installation Testing
More Than Fog Machines
The Intuit Dome installation demonstrates the difference between adding individual effects and engineering a complete atmospheric system.
Above the crowd, 40 Atlas units deliver the visible impact. Behind them, remote fluid distribution, custom controls, monitoring tools, data collection, and safety systems keep each cue supplied and ready.
The audience sees a perfectly timed blast of fog and the unmistakable visual language of a launch sequence. The venue team sees a connected system designed for repeatable performance, efficient maintenance, and precise control.
